|PITTSBURGH ACTIVISTS: Pack the Courthouse 9/27/05!
||[Sep. 22nd, 2005|01:17 pm]
change is a sound
On August 20th, the Pittsburgh Police attacked non-violent demonstrators with tasers, pepper spray, K-9 dogs and retractable batons. Many people were unjustly arrested. Now, your solidarity is needed during their preliminary hearing.|
A slew of charges have been made against these four people. The most serious charge is "riot to prevent official action," a felony with a maximum punishment of 5-10 years in prison, if convicted. We're calling for people to come down to show support for the arrestees and demand that the charges be dropped.
The hearing takes place at Pittsburgh's Downtown Courthouse (661 1st Ave) on Tuesday, September 27th at 8:30 A.M. Bring signs and all other showing of support that you can bring.
